SOIL ROOF PROJECT

Its time to cover the land with vegetation on which the concrete jungles have come up!

Land with green cover has been taken over by concrete jungles. The project is to come up with Roof Top Vegetation on the empty terraces of these buildings to compensate the green cover lost, not completely but partially though.

The project would start by surveying the total number houses and measures of the empty terraces. A financial model that would be beneficial both for the project, its operation cost and attractive to the terrace owners, so that they handover the responsibility of maintaining their terrace spaces to us.

Once we have the measure of terraces through survey, and our calculation of producing vegetables and other consumables, the derived profits and math behind it, the logistics, resources and manpower required, it’s time to pay a visit to each and every home owner, convince them and get them onboard.

If we are able to get at-least 50% of the home owners of a ward, we are good to go with the execution of the project on ground. Based upon the terrace space, amount of vegetables and types of vegetables that can be grown is decided. These will be repetitive in nature which means sowing will be done every three months. Since it’s a commercial venture and scale is very important. A particular type of vegetable will be grown in a particular terrace according to their space, quantity of vegetables that it will reap in given time-span. Proper planning will minimize wastage and ensure a balanced demand and supply chain. The roof stays cooler and greener all round the year.
