What gets created must be destroyed!

As time passes anything that's ever got created got destroyed, waste that comes out of our homes is something that doesn't really get destroyed. tRRRash project works on managing the waste into something useful. There are various kinds of wastes, domestic waste, industrial waste, medical waste etc. These can be solid or liquid or gaseous in nature. We are mainly focusing on the solid and liquid wastes.

Domestic waste

This waste consists of wet waste (organic waste), mainly from kitchen and dry waste. These wastes are collected by the city corporations. Most of them end up in the landfill without segregation and rot there mixed up with plastic producing harmful gases such as Methane. Hence segregation at source of waste collection becomes most important. Crores of rupees have been wasted on waste segregation campaigns which haven’t really worked. Hence the very first project under tRRRash project is designing and developing a Waste Segregation Electric Vehicle for a ward. This job of going door to door and collecting waste is done by Pourakarmikas and usually done by push-carts which is a tedious task. Hence this very first project would help these Pourakrmikas get some relief.

These waste collected needs to be processed and it should be done within their wards. The wet waste is converted to compost and will be used for the public parks and terrace gardens which come under the Soil Roof Project. Setting up of recycling plants in each ward is difficult but there would be one recycling plant for a cluster of 3 to 4 wards put together. The produce from these recycling plants, the recycled products would be used in various ways within their ward.

Industrial waste

Industrial waste needs to be treated within the premises of the industry. There needs to be policies which will direct the industries to setup waste treatment plants and will give credit scores for treating every ton of waste. When this becomes a business for someone then why would they not treat this waste as money?

In order to make this into a policy, I shall be KAYAKING the globe and the campaign would be named as “ “. And when is this happening. After two or three years.

Open Source waste

Open source waste is the ones that are already there in huge quantity. Like the open drainages, waste dumped in lakes or ponds, construction waste and waste from vegetable markets etc.

The second major project is designing and developing a waste picking robot from drainages, public spaces, and tourist spots. Waste like plastic, blocks the drainages and makes it overflow on the roads. Silt removal is also a job that needs to be done to make sure the drainage flows freely.

Setting up standalone STP’s for each ward or every 5k stretch of the drainage line will make sure the water that reaches the tank or lake or river is comparatively cleaner.

These are a set of projects under the tRRRash project which would streamline the complete waste management of a city and make it much cleaner and a livable place.
