Reparing the cities!

India has moved from rural population to urban population post 1970s and 80s. Though the very old cities build during the times of kings had a good planning, the same got planned in haphazard way by the influence of western ideas without giving much care about the weather condition, the topography, the culture of the people and places. Due to this, the vital aspects such as the water - the way it's transported and stored, the design of the houses and buildings, the materials used, lighting, the way electricity is generated and distributed, aspects of food and cooking, bathrooms and toilets, adequate spacing between houses and buildings, amount of green cover required, roads, pathways and mode of transportation were all not given much care which snowballed to larger problem which now seems to impossible to solve.

Urban Renovation Project will work on assessing the legacy old problem and charting out a plan as to how we can reduce this problem to minimum possible. Old maps, structures and ideas will also be studied.

Air flow movements that had been disturbed over the years due to mindless building structures would also be tried correct by planting trees, by changing the design of windows and roof systems. Drainage lines would be completely replaced by grey water as the toilets will bio toilets. Bio STPs will be setup at every ward to clean the grey water. Transportation will be more of an interconnected public system driven by EVs rather than personal vehicles that are run on petrol or diesel.

Domestic loads comprise of around 30% of the total load, and the street lights comprise of 30% and industrial load comprise of remaining. The losses from generation to distribution amounts to around 40% whereas the average load demand of a household is not more than 1kW which could be easily generated from the rooftop and stored. Lights were replaced by LED technology long back. The natural heating and cooling systems will now be driven by architectural design and the motors that consume less electricity as lights and motoring are the only two aspects of energy system that consumes electricity. LPG will be largely replaced with induction cook stoves and for cooking that requires fire, ethanol gas will be used.
